Job description

Are you looking for your next exciting role as a multiskilled engineer? We are currently looking to recruit in an engineer who values culture and team working at our site in Wigan.

The role will be one a rotating shift as below

Shift Pattern 1

Monday – Friday                      06.00am – 14.00pm for 2 weeks

Shift Pattern 2

Monday – Thursday                  13:30 – 22.00pm for 2 weeks

Friday                                       09:00 -  15:00 1 week    

Shift Pattern 3

Sunday- Thursday 10pm – 6am 1 week only

Job requirements

As a Multi-Skilled Engineer, you'll play a key role in maintaining and improving our manufacturing operations, ensuring our equipment runs safely, efficiently, and reliably.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and responding to equipment breakdowns to maximise production uptime.

  • Diagnosing and repairing electrical and mechanical faults across production machinery, utilities, and site services.

  • Identifying and implementing continuous improvement opportunities to enhance reliability, performance, safety, and efficiency.

  • Working closely with Production and Technical teams to support smooth manufacturing operations and minimise downtime.

  • Completing maintenance activities safely, efficiently, and in line with agreed standards, timescales, and compliance requirements.

  • Supporting engineering projects and equipment installations as required.

  • Maintaining accurate maintenance records and effectively communicating engineering issues across the business.

  • Ensuring full compliance with food safety, quality, hygiene, environmental, and health & safety standards.

  • Promoting a culture of safe working and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives across the site.

This is a hands-on role where you'll combine fault-finding expertise with proactive maintenance and continuous improvement activities to keep our manufacturing operation performing at its best.
